150TPD End Fired Furnace Mild Steel Glass Melting Furnace for Raw Material Melting

1. Brief Description

An ‌End-Fired Furnace‌ (is also called as ‌End-Port Furnace‌ or ‌Horseshoe-Fired Furnace‌) is an industrial thermal processing unit where ‌combustion burners are positioned at one or both ends‌ of the furnace chamber. The hot gas flow from combustion moves along the furnace direction, transferring heat through a glass melting furnace designed with longitudinally arranged combustion ports and a U-shaped flame path.

The end fired furnace has a small flame coverage area, the flame reversing brings periodic temperature fluctuation and hot spot movement.

In addition, the number of port limits the furnace width and furnace scale. End fired furnace is suitable for making all kinds of hollow products (bottles, jars, vessels, chemical instruments, bubble shells, glass tubes, etc.), pressing products and glass balls without special requirement on the quality of glass.

Its typical melting capacity is 30 – 500 t/d, in some cases up to 700 t/d can be achieved. Limitations in furnace size result from flame length and crown span width, especially of the burner ports.

JEFFER Engineering has designed and supplied the end-fired furnaces for the customers in China and aboard.

2. Advantage

1 Long Flame
2 High efficiency of heat utilization
3 Low energy consumption
4 Lower investment
5 Smal foot print

3. Factors that influence the melting effects

1 Characteristic of raw materials
2 Chemical compon
3 Material feeding method
4 Melting temperature

4. Main sections of furnace

  • Working tank

Normally, the semidiameter of working tank is equal to the width of the melting tank, the depth of the working tank is less than 300mm-400mm of the melting tank.

  • Dog house
Normally, the temperature of the dog house is about 1100°C~1400°C. The batched materials will be pre-melted at this section.
  • Port
It is the place where the fuel is mixed with the preheated air, also an access for the preheated air in to the furnace and exhausting the waste gas out.
  • Flame space
Flame space is a space which is combined with breast wall, crown, and front and back gable wall.
  • Throat
Throat is a core section of the furnace, it will affect the quality of glass and furnace campaign.
  • Regenerator
The regenerator can heat the combustion air by exhausted gas coming out from the furnace with the help of checker brick.
