1. Brief Description
Glass is an electric conductor under high temperature. There are alkali metal and potassium ions in melted glass liquid. These two ions have conductivity, when the electricity through the glass liquid, the joule heat will be produced, if there is enough calories produced, it can melt the glass, which is called “Glass Electric Melting”.
The electric furnace has a compact structure using electricity as fuel, nearly zero emissions of NOx and CO2, which is good for environmental protection.
Electric furnace can be used in areas where electricity cost is economic and stable supply, environmental protection requirements are strict, or in factories where glass contains high volatile components.
The electric furnace is mainly suitable to produce high-quality, small output or glass products that are difficult to produce by normal furnace, such as fluorine glass, lead glass (for example crystal glass), phosphate glass, borosilicate glass, etc.
